RiSS 2007 is a new international summer school created by the Reuse in Software Engineering (RiSE) group to discuss the state-of-the-art and practice related to software reuse. Software reuse is an important factor for companies interested in improving their productivity, time-to-market, quality and reducing costs. In addition, the field is becoming mature - the 10th International Conference on Software Reuse will be next year in China - and the results can be seen in the practical world which companies are more and more introducing reuse in their research-development-innovation agendas.
RiSS is a summer school which will discuss important issues related to software reuse and its technical and non-technical aspects, including Domain Engineering, Software Product Lines (SPL), Component-Based Development (CBD), Component Libraries, Software Reuse Tools and Managerial and Organizational aspects for reuse adoption.
Additionally, it is important to highlight that lecturers of the RiSS will be the main researchers/practitioners in the field. Thus, it is the perfect environment to professors, students, researchers, and software professionals try, in an objective way, to match academic results with industry expectations and demands.
Besides all technological characteristics that surround the school and its realization in Recife, it is worth to stand out the advantaged that nature brought to the city with sun, the beaches (Boa Viagem, Maracaípe, Porto de Galinhas), delicious culinary (crab, shrimp, bode), the human heat of the people from Pernambuco, culture (carnival, frevo and maracatu) and one of the most animated technological people from the country. It will be a pleasure to receive you for RiSS 2007.
Welcome all of you!!!
RiSS Directors.
